I am looking for any info to JESSE WARD who was found living in Sevier County on 1840 Census where he is listed as fifty to sixty years of age. Jesse married the widow of LUKE WARD who was named REBECCA DREW WARD. I am trying to establish the relationship, if any, of Jesse to Luke. Jesse is thought to have died by 1849. Some say that he died around San Antonio, Tx. possibly from being wounded fighting for Tx. independence. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated.
