Adoptions in Washington County, Ar.early 1800's

I suspect that my grt,grt grandmother, America Spears may have been adopted around 1820 in Ar. Does anyone know of any adoption facilities in that area, in that time period? I had heard mention of Dwight's Mission, but didn't know whether adoptions were handled through there; or if there would be a list somewhere of children (perhaps Cherokee or Choctaw)that were adopted in Ar. at that time.
