Hello. For Civil War information, check out the Jim Martin Arkansas Civil War site.
For information on groups from that time, check out the Gerdes site that connects to the Jim Martin site.
What is now White County was a hot bed of activity during the Civil War.
To learn about your kin, try writing to the White County Historical Society in Searcy, Arkansas. The PO Box may be 537, but that could be wrong as I am working from memory.
If you connect to the other White County site, you will find all sort of documented history on the county.
Also, try and see what Goodspeeds had about the family. It cost money to put your history in there back in 1889 and some folks did and some folks did not.
Good luck.
Linda
