Viney Pool Tidwell - George W. Carroll 1885 Searcy, AR

I am searching for any information on the hanging of George W. Carroll. Many details of the crime are inconsistent with other information I have. 1.The children involved were the children of Viney and Arch Tidwell (1880 Census, AR, White, Harrison, Judsonia). 2. Viney's maiden name was Pool - - account lists George Carroll's wife, Lizzy, as Elizabeth Pool.
Viney was sent away on the train and never heard from again.
Who received custody of the girls? Will appreciate any help in answering any of these questions.
