The Erbach's were "Bohemian Protestants". During the 40 Years' War, Duke Maximillian of Baveria under the decree of The Roman Catholic Church, Issued a "Writ of Excommunication" stating that anyone who opposed the Catholic Rule would be sought out, excommunicated and executed.
Needless to say the Erbach's fled.
Three sons,
Adam((Originally "Graffon Au Erbach." Adam's family was driven out of Germany by the Catholics. The Arbaugh's (Erbach's) were Bohemian Protestants (Lutheran) and they were driven out of Germany because they would not renounce their faith.
Adam and his two brother's (Baltzer and Lorentz) headed for America on the ship Edinberg and landed in Maryland in 1748.
Adam Married Mary Blankenbaker while living in Maryland in 1755.))
Baltzer((Baltzer Au Erbach settled in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. There he married Maria Elizabeth (last name unknown) and had 5 children. In 1761 he purchased a tract of land in Silver Run, Maryland and died there ten years later in 1771.))
Lorentz((Died shortly upon arriving to America. Location of burial unknown))
and their father and mother left Gremany. The mother(Anna Maria Frankenfield) and Father (Johannes Rudolph Erbach) died en route, and only 2 sons survived to reach America
