Hi Alexandra.
Sorry I can,t help you more. The information that I have is on the IGI.
Unless the Ardrey family were part of the landed gentry you are at a dead end as records are sparse in Ireland before 1800.
The name is supposed to originate in the Isle of ELY in England but they may also have been French of the name Arderes.
There is a good post somewhere on this forum regarding the name by Wolfden something
