I have determined that William Askins Ardrey is the youngest son of the first wife of William Ardrey. Her name was Mary but maiden name unknown. William Askins was born 19 Apr 1798 and I assume Mary died at or near his birth.
William Ardrey m. 2/ c1799 Jane "Amberson" Nichols, widow of James Nichols by whom she had 3 children. If you have documents to prove me in error I would really appreciate having copies of those items.
Also where did you find that William Ardrey was born in County Antrim, Ireland. I've not been able to determine a place of birth for him.
I show that your James Potts Ardrey was first married to Sarah Rone and had 4 children by her. He then married Blanche Rone c1909 and had 7 children by her, one being William McCullogh Ardrey. Is he the same as your William H. since I show William McC m. Mary Ellen Hawfield? Do you know the parents of Sarah & Blanche Rone?
I will look forward to exchanging information with you. If you wish to take this private you can email me at <> Note: Remove the brackets before trying to use this email addy.
