Shirl, Was your John ARDREY b. 1801 SC? Do you show him as the son of William & Jane "Amberson" ARDREY? The one I have was murdered in Des Arc, AR in 1869. His wife (date & place of marriage not known) which I show as Sarah was born 1804 SC-d. 1861 AR. 1st child b. 1832; last one born in 1855. They moved to MS from SC bet. 1845-1848 & to AR bet. 1848 & 1855, based on the place of birth for the children. I've got several John's listed in my files with no other info on them. Do you have any locations or dates on your ARDREYs? Do you have descendants of your John? I have a copy of the Julia A. ARDREY Chart which is held in The Library of Congress and it shows several different branches of ARDREY families; ie: Ohio, KY, SC, PA. No known connection between them yet, but naming of a lot of the children follows the same pattern.
