In Reply to: Origin of the Ardry-Ardrey name by T. Ardry of 134

My 4th great grandfather was Alexander Ardery, born abt 1785. He was born in Ulster, Ireland and married in PA in 1808 to Susan Gaddis who was also from Ulster, Ireland. The name, as you probably well know, is quite unusual in this country even today after the great Irish immigration of the eary 1900's. 1790 and 1800 census indexes show a couple of Ardery's (Ardrey, Ardry, etc.) in Penn. and a few more in KY and other southern states.
