ERRORS & CORRECTIONS -- The previous message is IN ERROR. I am replying to my own message of several months ago. Not sure what I was drinking or thinking at the time I wrote the earlier message...BUT, here are the correct facts:
Susanna Gaddis married Alexander Ardery (a Baptist) near Lancaster, PA abt 1808. He was born in Ireland, supposedly in County Tyrone about 1785. She was also born in Ireland, County Down about 1791, the daughter of Robert Gaddis and Mary Ann Frazier...NOT John Gaddis. Rev John Gaddis was Susanna's (wife of Alexander Ardery) younger brother, NOT HER FATHER. John Gaddis was born in 1794 according to present record.
Robert and Mary Ann Frazier Gaddis did live first in Delaware after landing in August of 1801 and then moved near Lancaster, PA where they resided from 1803 until the spring of 1817 at which time they moved to Ripley, Brown Co., OH.
Rev. John Gaddis did also have a daughter named Susanna A. Gaddis. The daughter's middle name is spelled in unusual ways but is likely either Audrey or Ardery. If the latter, then she would be named for her aunt. Perhaps this is the source of some confusion.
At the time I wrote the first message, however, I should have known the more accurate information. I am sorry for further adding to the confusion.
Essential Recap: Alexander's wife's name is Susanna Gaddis. Her father is Robert. Her brother is John.
