The origin of the name comes from Daudenzell, Germany. The name was spelled Erckenbrecht. Hans Adam Erckenbrecht and Anna Schilling had two sons- Hans Georg Erckenbrecht and Hans Leonhardt. Hans Georg immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1732. Over the years his family name has been variously spelled as Argenbright, Argabright.

Hans leonhardt settled in New York state and this family name has evolved into Alkenbrack, allcombrack...
I am a descendent of Hans Leonhardt line
