I am also following this Baylor/Argenbright Line. Jacob Baylor was a prominent man in Staunton and the great great grandfather of my wife. He lived outside of Staunton in the small community of Swoope. I am very confused as to his origins as I can find no connection between him and the prominent and prolific family of Baylors in Virginia to which the George Baylor, aide to George Washington, belonged. I suspect George Baylor, father of Jacob, who married Catherine Argenbright, may have been of a family who changed their name from Beilor to Baylor. I would be most interested to exchange info with anyone who could shed some light on the Argenbright/Hanger/Baylor families for me.
