A brief biography/family history of Nick Arnet, harness dealer, Cut Bank, MT, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, page 1005. Nick was born, 15 Aug 1884, son of John and Margaret (Reich) Arnet. His father was an officer in the French army during the Franco-Prussian war when France lost Alsace-Lorraine.

In 1901, Nick entered the Government lighthouse service on Lake Michigan, taking supplies and building material to different lighthouse stations. In the fall of 1902, he assisted in building lighthouse towers on the Government piers at Milwaukee and Sheboygan. Later Nick moved to Cut Bank, MT, where he was proprietor of a prosperous harness business.

In 1914, Cut Bank, MT, Nick married Mrs. Martha Pearce.
