Arnstads in the U.S.
I am an Arnstad. My great-grandfather (Ole Arnstad) emigrated from Norway (I believe there was a family farm near Trondheim, a picture of which hangs in my mother's house) to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was a builder. He was married twice, I believe. He was known to his children as Papa. His children were Matilda (Tilly), Emma, Hilda, Ole, Josephine (Josie), John (Johnny), Guerina (Neenie), Mae Belle, George and Charlie. He and his famiy enjoyed spending time at Lake Wissota in Wisconsin.
There's a lot of longevity in this branch of the family. Two of Ole's daughters lived to the age of 100, and a third to close to 100! Mae Belle was my maternal grandmother and she died in 1998 at age 100.She was married to Walter J. Christensen for 63 years. They lived for many years in New Jersey. They had two children, Walter, Jr. (Jack) and Jane.Jack and Jane each have three children and eight grandchildren between them.Jane is my mother.
My mother's cousin, Corrine Charlson (Josie's daughter), is our family's geneologist. She is in contact with some Arnstad cousins in Norway. She lives in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
I live in Portland, Maine, am married to Bob Farnham, and have twin sons, Henry Hathaway Farnham and Nicholas Arnstad Farnham, who are two.
Please contact me if you have more information about our family, especially any information about twins in the family!
Thank you, Kristen Arnstad Potter Farnham
