I have a considerable amount of data concerning the Artlett family. I believe it is likely that all existing Artletts have their roots in the Artlett family in Sussex in the early 1500's.

I have no data concerning Artletts leaving England for Australia. However, the surname is rather rare and the only reference to a JOB ARTLETT I have seen is from transcripts of the Broadwater Parish Records, West Sussex:

JOB ARTLETT, baptised 1810, Broadwater, son of JAMES & CHARLOTTE ARTLETT. James was a brickmaker.

I should also point out that my records have "Job?", in other words it was likely to be "Job" but not 100% certain. I could check the original registers if you wish.

I have data linking this Job directly all the way back to JOHN ARTLETT who was buried in Findon, West Sussex, 25 oct 1723.

Broadwater is now part of the town of Worthing (where I live) and Findon is the adjacent village to the north.

P.S. I have heard that somebody is trying to find data on a Job Artlett, brickmaker.
