Hi, and Thank you so much for your post!!!! I would be interested in the Arrowood info. from Lincoln Co, North Carolina and the Maryland info. also. I would really appreciate any thing!!! Charles M. Gourley is my Dads great-grandfather and he was born either in 1868 , we have always been told in North Carolina ( and Cherokee always comes up???). That he was born an (Arwood,Arrowood, Atwood) and LATER TOOK the name of GOURLEY.He sometime(WHEN UNSURE???) went to Tennessee in the McNairy and Chester Counties in Tennessee(possibly others I have not been told about!!!! He married a Callie (Boyer, Boyett, Boyette are the names remembered). I have been unable to find a marriage date, place for them. Anyway, Charles(Charlie or Charley) son (my dads grandfather William Edward "ED" GOURLEY said they were from Finger, Tennessee then they came to be in the Dyer County, Tennessee areas and THAT is where I grew up. I found out that Charles death is not January 1, 1922 , but FEBRUARY 2, 1923!!!!!! I know he is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dyer county, TN. and has no marker or stone!!!! I am really STUCK on narrowing down his ARWOOD or ARROWOOD parents and siblings, etc.... So, I would appreciate any EARLY info. you have found!!! I have hit my BRICK WALL as they say... THANKS in advance for anything. Take Care and Sincerely, Mrs. Ray-Lyne Gourley R.
