I am the great, great, granddaughter of John Evans Arwood.I found today on Google.com that if I put in John Evans Arwood and search several references appear and one is very extensive. It has a lot on his decendants, however, it does not include my great grandmother, Martha J. Arwood, (born abt. 1842 in Georgia, died October 27, 1922 in Hapeville, Fulton County, Geogia),(She was married the first time to a Benjamin Tedder and had one son, also named Benjamin, after her first husband died of thyphoid in VA. during the Civil War, she married Samuel Chatham and had 4 sons and 1daughater)and of course any reference to her husband Samuel Wilson Chatham(May 18, 1847, Forsyth or Cherokee County, Died May 7,Tilton, Whitfield County, Georgia) and any of their line.I do have a transcript of her obituary. I have not posted my stuff on the internet because I haven't documented it all yet.I can give you more info on my line but the rest you can get from the search I mentioned. This web forum was there also, hence me finding your query. My uncle, Martha's grandson who remembers her, says she was part Cherokee. However, no one who had done any research can find any documentation of this information.I think, 1832, at the time of the removal to Oklahoma, any Indian that was married to a white was classified as white.I have 1850 reports that state Martha J. (Arwood) Chatham was white. As to the other names on this querie I have not information.I'm sorry.. If I come across any more info on those names I will certainly let you know.
