The first Asbell in America as far as we know was Martin Asbell who arrived in Surry County VA in 1700. He was only 12 yrs old and was endintured as a sevant untill 1712. There were no Asbells in America before this time. Perhaps a different spelling is what you need to look for such as Ashbald a commonly confused name or Ashbie.
