Tribute to Rev. A.W. Asbill found in the microfiched files at the Carolinian Library, Columbia, SC.

Tribute to the memory of Rev. A.W. Asbill. At a church meeting of the members of Bethel Church, held on the 9th October 1867. P. Williams presented the following resolution which was unaniously adopted.

Whereas our Heavenly Father has seen fit in his Providence to remove from us by sudden death on the 7th of October, 1867, our beloved and esteemed Bro. A.W. Asbill our pastor for thirteen years where he has labored faithfully and diligently in the cause of Christ. While it is our duty to bow to the (word is illegible" of an All (illegible) Providence, yet we mourn over his loss. Though it is his enternal gain we also sympathize with the bereaved family.

Resolved, that a copy of this resolution be recorded on the Church book.
Resolved, that a copy of the same be presented to the family of the deceased, and a copy be also sent to the Edgefield Advertiser for publication.
