The book Asbill Connections, that I found at the South Carolinian Library has Abner Burdette dying in 1862

The History of Edgefield by John Chapman has an A.B. Asbill as a private in Company F, Nineteenth Regiment (Which is the Ridge Spring, SC regiment)

L.G.B. Asbill that you have listed as his son is buried in the Holstein Family Cemetary in Monetta, SC. I found one Asbill headstone without a legible first name. This person died July 24, 1865.

Also found a 1920 census record for a Burdette Asbill, Ridge Spring. Could be a descendant of Abner Burdette. He had a son Louis M. that I remember (census copy has been misplaced)

BTW, noticed you in the Whittle family forum. I'm looking for the parents of Melbrae Adella Whittle, 6/30/1864 - 3/19/1931. Married John Willie Asbell (Asbill). If you have anything please let me know.
