Richard Scott Asbell, SR, born in Chowan County, NC 8/14/36 died 6/6/82 in Jacksonville FL buried in Cypress Chapel Cemetery in Suffolk, VA. He served in the Army.

His parents were: John Richard Asbell b. 02-19-1900 d. 12-29-1957 PFC 20 Bomb Sq. Air Service and buried in Cypress Chapel Cemetery in Suffolk, VA m. Eloise Privott Asbell b.12-20-1909 d. 01-13-1976

8/14/36

Is writing the date this way automatically assumed to be in the 1800's? I am new to geneaology so this information would be helpful.

Thanks,
Wendy
