Found the following in the Summary of Deeds of Edgefield County published by their historical society. This book is available in the Charleston County library and may be available throughout libraries in SC.

Deed Book 18
p.94-96 William Holstun to Aaron Asbell Deed, 26 February 1800, (Pounds Sterling)150, 220 Acres, being tract granted to John Frederick 6 Nov 1786; also 162 acres, it being a tract granted sd John Fredereick 6 Nov 1786. Wit Gilbert Falkner, Jeremiah (x) Kish, Josiah (x) Todd. /s/ Willaim Holstun. Proven 26 Feb 1800 by Gilbert Faulkner; John Spann, JP. Rec 3 March 1800.

As legend had it that Aaron arrived in SC from NC in December 1799, my conjecture is that this could have been his first purchase of land in SC.
