I have been researching Asbel family in FL - my great grandmother was an Asbel. I found Ivan Asbel, born abt 1810, married Sarah. Children were Rebecca,b. 1844 and Jackson (John) b. February 1846, Appling County, GA.
Jackson moved to Florida in 1870, married Susan Sapp (GA). They had 7 children - whose descendants still live in Pasco County, FL.

I don't have info before Ivan or Rebecca's maiden name.
