Asbell family history

I think it is interesting that the books by George Bennett are now thought to be inaccurate. He corresponded with my mother's cousin, Julian Asbell of Cochran, Georgia, and with another relative, Bertha Sanders, and much of the information he had he got from them. I now have all of my mother's (Mary Magdalene Asbell Gratteau) papers including a copy of George Asball (Ashall)'s will, in which he indicates leaving his Virginia plantation Wolf's Neck to his son Richard. Other histories and references from Perquiman and Bertie Counties North Carolina continue the line there. As I am now compiling all of her information into Family Tree Maker, it is discouraging to think that major inaccuracies could exist. But I will keep plugging and hope to be as correct as possible.
