Margaret Ascroft, daughter of Thomas Ascroft b. 1770, Wigan, Lancashire England, had one son Henry who sailed to New Orleans with his new wife, Mary Glover Ashcroft, on the ship Clara Wheeler leaving Liverpool Nov 24, 1854. Margaret was at the dock in Liverpool to see her son and new daughter-in-law off. Margaret was never married. Henry's father so far is some what a mystery. Some say he was George Lee or Leigh of Wigan, Lancashire, England. It is that man that I look for. I have seen Land Deeds with Margaret's name on them but no mention of Henry's father. Ascroft is however how margaret spelled her name. Henry begat the spelling of Ashcroft. I have several generations back from Margaret bu there is little documentation. Henry's wife Mary Glover wrote a letter to Margaret shortley before she died. If you have anything more please tell me. Thanks
