My surname of Ash/Ashe came from the French Dufresne (DuFrene). The name means of the Ash tree or of the Ash grove. My gg grandfather was Lewis Ash b. abt 1829-1834. He was born in St.Hyacinthe, P.Q., Canada to Lewis Ash and Rosa Briggs. If any of this seems familiar to anyone, please e-mail me.
