Hello -

We just returned from the Dingle where we attended the Ashe family reunion. Grandfather John Ashe from Gurteen, about 1.5 miles SW of Annascaul Village, on the road to Minard Castle, March 1869. He was married to Kate Shea in America in 1895. She too was from Annascaul but had come to U.S. about ten years before John did. According to family legends and also verified by the parish records, John had no siblings, his father passing away a few years after John's birth. G-Grandfather, also a John Ashe, listed from Annagap, near the Lake, married Mary Fitzgerald in 1867. These data are verified by seeing the Sacred Heart Parish old register books.

Any connections here with your info??

Thanks in advance,

Irv Butler
son of Margaret Marie Ashe
