Mike and Karen,

Catharine Adeline Ashe and John Alexander were my great grandparents through their son William Lee Alexander. My delima is that I have not been able to find anything much about John's parents. Family tradition suggests that John's parents weren't married and that John took his mother's surname. It is also suggested that his father's surname was Allison. But the given names were not known.

If either of you can shed any light on this situation I'd be very grateful. Thanks,

Bob Alexander
