Ken, Do you have any information on the daughter Ann of James and Elizabeth Ashmore??? I have a Garvin Ancestor b 1779 d. 1849, whose wife was named Ann. They resided in Pickens Co. SC. Most posts say my James Garvin was James Ashmore Garvin(I have not seen a document with Ashmore as a middle name for James) and his wife Ann Landers (???sounds fishy). I have often wondered if there was some confusion on the Ashmore connection and that James MAY have married an Ashmore. There was initially quite a bit of mis-information on the Garvins, until a fellow researcher found evidence that has corrected quite a bit of information. In the Asmore posts, I noticed a Lindley family. There was a Thomas Lindley in Orange or a close by NC County about the time of the Ashmores you mentioned. A son of Thomas ended up in southern Greenville SC County and was a Patriot, who was killed in the Rev war. He had two daughters who married Smith brothers. Any information on Ann would be appreciated. Tom Smith [email protected]
