I don't know if this information relates to your research, but here goes...A 1932 family record states: "The Seftons belonged to the elder branch of Lord Sefton's family and were related to Sarah Ascham, a descendent of the brother of Roger Ascham." This record is referring to families in Yorkshire/Lancashire areas of England around the 1770s.I'm a descendant of William Moorhouse who married Mary Sefton at Pontefract, Yorkshire in 1773, and this was a bit of information about her family.I'm just starting to investigate the 'Sefton' and 'Ascham' connection.I thought I'd mention it in case you came across a Sefton/Ascham marriage.Sue
