Hi Dale, Unfortunately I dont know his Christian name or the date of his arrival in the US. Most of this Askin family were mariners and I think the settler in the US was also a sea captain, his staff sent him a wreath arranged in the shape of a fully rigged ship.. I have a James Askin on the following ships, Sirian Star, Baltimore Star, Rippon, Washington City, Craig.. and The Titian.maybe this is my grandfather's brother who was the father of Jenny?I checked out the N.Y.Times in our library but his death was not recorded.Thank you for your interest. Dell
