Marion Askins
Looking for information on Marion Askins (b. 1846/1860, IN -- d. after 1890 birth of daughter Martha and before 1900 census, where wife Mary is listed as widow)
1870 Census, Lilly Dale, Anderson Twp, Perry Co., IN -- farmer with 252 acres
1880 Census, Anderson Twp, Perry Co., IN
Not in 1890 census -- possible that he died before Martha was born or just about the same time.
His wife mary was born Apr 1852, Troy Twp, Perry Co., IN -- Died 4 Apr 1905, Tell City, TroyTwp, Perry Co., IN (55 yrs old) -- have copy of her obituaries that appeared 12 Apr 1905 in "Tell City News", and and 13 Apr 1905 in "Cannelton Telephone: Tell City (From the News)" She died suddenly, dropping dead in her home.
Their children were John (ca 1871), Bertha (ca 1873), Eddie (ca 1875), Milliard (ca 1875), Thomas (Jan 1878, married to Mary Wells, sister to my ancestor's wife, Muriel Wells), Leonard (1879/1880), Robert (Feb 1884, Tell City, Troy Twp, Perry Co., IN, dying in 1912 in Vicksburg, Warren Co., MS -- my ancestor, married to Muriel Wells before Bertha Elizabeth's 1 Jul 1905 birth in IN), Charles (Feb 1888), and Martha (June 1890). The dates of birth are all derived from the census records so they may not be 100% accurate.
Any of this sound familiar to anyone out there? Lots of speculation on Marion's roots -- feel that he is related to the SC Askins somehow.
