Additional Aspley Info.

Dear Gavin
I am Herbert Arthur Aspley (b1948) I have two sons Stephen Neville John(b1969)and Michael Martin (b1993). My dad is Arthur John, I suppose he was born in the 1920's, he had a brother and three sisters (Rennie (d.2000), Len (d.1980's?), Hilda and Elsie). My dad is still running around like a young thing. His father was George, where he was born I do not know but I do know he was an accomplished silversmith working in Birmingham, England. Rumour is he did at least one commissioned piece of work for Queen Victoria, but I do not know how reliable this information is. I have seen very good examples of art work. Art seems to run through the Birmingham side of the family. I am interested in any information regarding this very unusual name, and feel certain that there must be a link to the ASPLEY'S mentioned in the USA. I still have cousins in the midlands who could possibly provide more information. This is a start. I live in Northern Ireland. My mothers maiden name is Wray.
