At present I am doing genology on my family, the Aspley's. I read your message to Gavin and am intervening with this information which may be of interest to your enquiry.
A George Aspley was christened 4th March 1744, recorded at Penkridge, Staffordshire, Eng. in 1746-1876 records. His father was Richard Aspley.
Further, a George Aspley was also christened
and recorded at Penkridge on 25th April 1775,
his father too was George Aspley.
The foregoing may or may not be helpful to you.
