My maternal grandfather was an Assante who emigrated from Caserta, Italy in the late 1800s or early 1900s. He came into NY and ended up residing first in Lyndhurst NJ and then in Manhattan. He was a tailor by trade and was married to Carmella Mastrangelo. Any links?
