Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

The Athey Y project is only concerned with male Atheys. Since your last Athey ancestor was female, that would break the chain of transmission of the Y chromosome.

As an update, we now have 18 Atheys with matching Y profiles, apparently all descended from Capt George Athy (1642-1709). Any Athey who is tested and matches this profile is almost certainly a descendant of Capt George.
