Hi Drew,

I can hardly believe this as I knew all about the Atkin family going to USA, and have waited and waited to find something.

I have extensive research about the generations of Walter ATKINs descending from Walter ATKIN and Catherine DREW who had a Marriage Agreement in 1786.

My great grand father Walter ATKIN b.1846 in Douglas, Cork was the son of Walter ATKIN and Margaret Hill BELL. Your Richard DREW is one of my gr gr grandfather Walter ATKINs b.1818 in Clonpriest (a barrister) younger brothers.
They all went to USA ( with the exception of John Drew ATKIN and Christopher Musgrave ATKIN. They ended up in NZ after farming in Australia)even their mother widowed Arabella DREW/ATKIN. When she wanted to return to Ireland where she died, Walter, Margaret and family returned with her and later they sailed to Melbourne Australia where Walter died in 1865. It was their son Walter who then sailed to the West Coast of New Zealand where he wrote and printed newspapers for the Gold rush areas.
I have so much to share with you and would be delighted to hear from you. It will make twenty years of researching so worth while.

A very hopeful,
Judy Kirkland
