Shawn,

Before I had read your first posting, I had been going through census record images and about everything online for Oscar W.'s parents, hoping I could find some kin of Oscar to direct me to his (Kish) descendants. What I did find recently is that there must have been two John and Harriet Atteberrys with sons Oscar. As the Kish family lived in both McLean and Macon counties, I had thought the John E. and Harriet (Cash) Atteberry who married in Macon Co., IL might be Oscar W.'s parents, but futher search finds John E. and his Harriet were in Oklahoma County, OK in later census, with son Thomas Oscar Atteberry (born February 1882). So with all these factors of the same names, and especially the closeness in ages of the two Oscars, it's no wonder I had been mixed up!

Hazel Helen (Kish) Atteberry's husband's family seems as elusive as her and my Kish ones! I still haven't found where Oscar W. was in the 1930 census, though Hazel was listed as "married" and not "widowed," so he should have been living somewhere. So far I haven't located him in the Ancestry.com 1930 census database. I even wonder what happened to Oscarina, the daughter from his first marriage. If I run across anything on John H. during my searching, I'll let you know.
