My gGrandfather's name was George Washington ARTERBERRY and was born in Mt. Florence, KS on 1 Nov 1855. His death certificate states that his father's name was William ARTERBERRY and mother was Mary COFFEY.

I have found a marriage record for Jesse W. ATTEBERRY and Mary Frances COFFEY on 24 Aug 1854 in DeKalb Co., MO.

I have also found a voter registration for Jesse W. ATTLEBERRY in Pleasant Hill, KS for a Kansas election on 15 Jan 1856.

Finally, a Kansas census record taken in March 1857 that lists Mary F. ARTERBERRY as Widow.

My first thought were that Jesse W. could be Jesse William and could be the son of Greenberry ATTEBERRY who had a son named William that would have been probably the same age range. Greenberry ATTEBERRY and family lived very close to the COFFEY's in DeKalb Co., MO which tends to support this thought. However, I've found Greenberry's son, William, listed in various places as William Butler ATTEBERRY who d. 1869. I can find no Census, Marriage or Death information to support this though.

Other possibility is that on the 1850 US Census there is a Jesse ATTERBERRY living in Grundy Co., MO with what seem to be maybe a brother, Thomas, and his wife, Sarah. I can find nothing of this Jesse after the 1850 Census. This Thomas is documented to be the son of Edward ATTERBERRY and Jane (fr SC) who are both in Grundy Co. at that time was well. Could this Jesse be another son of Edward?

My ggGrandmother, Mary (COFFEY) ARTERBERRY remarried in DeKalb Co., MO after the death of her 1st hustband. She was listed as Mary Frances ATTEBERRY m. Moses MITCHELL 8 Apr 1858.

Any help or thoughts would truly be appreciated.
