#27 Philip Attridge and Ellen Dwyer are my Great-great grandparents.
We've found plenty of information about their children and grandchildren, but can't trace either Philip or Ellen.
I did see a census on Ancestry.com which said that Philip may have lived in Devon, England in 1871.
Most US Census Records state that he arrived in the US about 1874, 1875.
Family members have said that he came over from Ireland by himself, came to work in the paper mill in Pepperell, and then met and married Ellen Dwyer in the States.
I think the following timeline could be possible:
1848 - Born in Ireland (no record of parents, or location)
1871 - Was living in Devon, England
1874 - Immigrated to the US
1875 - Married Ellen Dwyer
1876 - Ellen and Philip had their first son, Thomas H Attridge in Pepperrell, MA
If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated!!
I'm studying abroad in Ireland next semester and I think it would be cool to trace some of my ancestry.
For additional information, Philip and Ellen had the following children:
Thomas H Attridge 1879-1953
Mary A Attridge 1878-1945
John Philip Attridge 1881-1946
Arthur R Attridge 1882-1972
James Edward Attridge 1885-1973 (my Great-Grandfather)
Joseph Francis Attridge 1887-1945
James Michael Attridge 1887-1974
Margaret V Attridge 1889- ?
Nellie A Attridge 1891-1970
Wilfred L (Leo?) Attridge 1893-1970
Theresa C Attridge 1896-1905
