The Marion Aubrey that you cite is the uncle of the Marion Awbrey I was referring to.

Thomas Awbrey, Heard County, Georgia 1787-1860, was a small planter in Heard County. He was the son of Rev. War veteran Philip Awbrey. He married Temperance Chapman, and many of his descendants continue to reside along the Alabama and Georgia state line. His oldest son was:

John Chapman Awbrey, born 1811 Jackson County, Georgia (or Madison County) died 1879 Red River County, Texas. Lived in Troup County, Georgia, Randolph County, Alabama, Columbia County, Arkansas, and Red River County, Texas. Married Mary Anne Harris, and had issue Thomas Henry Awbrey (remained in Georgia, and died at the end of the Civil War), Madison Timothy Awbrey (Red River County, Texas- Confederate Vet.), Edmond Chapman Awbrey (Red River County, Texas- Confed. Vet), John Mitchell Awbrey (died in Civil War), Noah Awbrey (Montague County, Texas), Marion Washington Awbrey (Montague County, Texas, your ancestor), and Charles Awbrey (Red River County, Texas), among others.

The Marion Awbrey I was referring to was a son of Noah Awbrey. The Marion you are referring to is a brother of Noah Awbrey.

Your Marion's mother was Mary Anne Harris, grandaughter of James Green Pittman, an officer in the Revolutionary War and War of 1812, Georgia state congressman, and signer of the Georgia Constitution. The names Timothy and Noah, among others, came to the Awbrey family through the Pittman family.
