Aubrey Children in Catholic Protectory in Bronx, NY

I am looking for anyone who has knowledge of the Aubrey children who were placed in the Catholic Protectory in the Bronx in New York City. My grandmother was Edith Aubrey and she and her sister, Blanch and her brothers Arthur and William are listed on the census in the year 1900. She later became Edith Hughes (married to Jeremiah Hughes). Edith was born in Massachusetts but somehow had ties to Quebec, Canada as she told me she was French Canadian. She grew up in the Protectory and later lived in the Parkchester which was built on the Protectory grounds. She actually died there.

Her mothers name may have been Bridget and possible her father was John or Jack Aubrey, but not sure. I know she told me her mother was very poor but there may have been some other children which were not in the Protectory. I think my grandmother lost track of some of her brothers.

If you know something please contact me. Thanks
