I purchased several books from a used book store in Florida. In one is the following, handwritten beautifully in pencil: D.J.Auchmoody, Rondout (a city in Ulster County), February 27, 1869. In the other is the following, also handwritten in pencil: David J. Auchmoody, Ulster Park, N.Y.; and S Ackerman (the spelling may be incorrect, as the page is dark, and the pencil has faded a bit), January, 1867. I am intrigued by this personal item: there are several handwritten poems and personal thoughts throughout the pages. There were also pressed flowers between two pages. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
