In about 1960 I had the pleasure of visiting the clay tile business of the Aufderheide's in New Ulm. I remember one Aufderheide who was a Army pilot during WWII. He spoke with a German accent! That shook up some of his squadron members.

My great grandfather Aufderheide came over from Germany and lived in southern Indiana. He had 5 children, one of which was Benjamin, my grandfathr. Benjamin had Richard Hixson Aufderheide, who in turn had me, Don R.
I have Erik Laurentz Aufderheid, born 9/22/68 and is an Airforce pilot.
