Is it possible that you are trying to find the wrong first name and it's not Julius? I did some research in the census records and came up with a Thomas O. Ault who appears to be the father of your grandfather Lloyd.

This may be Thomas' family even though it gives his middle initial as A. His age fits perfectly with the 1920 and 1930 census.

25-25 John Ault age 39, b. Ohio, father & mother b. Pennsylvania
Sarah A. wife age 36, b. Indiana, father b. Ohio, mother b. Virginia
(more children didn't copy)
youngest child was Thomas A. age 3/12 b. Jan. Indiana
