As far as I can tell from all the census records, John Ault and his wife Sarah (Casselberry), the parents of John Ellis,
were both born in Pennsylvania. They were living in Lycoming Co. PA in 1840 before moving to Tioga. If your Catherine Ault Neal was born in England, I don't see any connection. Have you seen the website Tri-Counties Genealogy & History by Joyce Tice? That's Tioga, Bradford Cos. PA and Chemung Co. NY. There was a post by someone else looking for the same people. Here it is.

I am looking for John and Catherine Ault Neal settled in Charleston Township (Tioga COunty) nov 30, 1832, coming from Derbyshire, England. two nephews came with them Samuel Goodall and John Whittekar. John is buried in Dart Settlement, saw his name on your list also, Catherine is buried in Whitneyville. I spent many of summers there at my Aunts summer house, Mary Neal, and Elizabeth Neal. I was born in Wellsboro, 1961, moved to Camp Hill, Pa now married and live in New Jersey. any info would be appreciated. I am looking for before they came to England, from Ireland.
