Ault, Clockmakers, Belper, Derbyshire circa 1820

I am trying to trace family connections to this Clock and Watchmaking company in Belper. James appears in the directories of 1825. Joseph in 1835, in Bridge St. BELPER
Derbyshire. My great-grandmother was a Rebecca Ault and the family story is that the clockmakers were relatives. Indeed, my parents had one of the Ault clocks when I was a child, but I have been unsuccessful in linking the two families. There is a John Ault attending Strutt's school, who left in 1821 "to help his father, a clockmaker"
