Nathan Askew, Mary Austin
I am holding a deed from 1809 in Chester County, South Carolina. It states that a Nathan Askew bought land from the Kirkpatricks that was originally granted to James Kirkpatrick and then came into possession of Francis Kirkpatrick, was sold at public auction and then purchased by Elinor Kirkpatrick, wife of James McNight, who in turn deeded it or it was inherited by Wattie Kirkpatrick of the State of Tennessee.
In this deed, for love and affection as a deed of gift, Nathan Askew is deeding this land on the Broad River to Mary Austin. This Mary Austin lived in Chester, S.C., and in the very next deed, she mortgages the land to John Royal Love.
Does anyone happen to know to whom this Mary Askew Austin was married?Which Mr. Austin.
Any information would be welcome.
