Steve, I am interested in your line. I want to go from past to present in the line I follow:
Thomas Cartwright m Lavinia Rogers of Tippah Co, MS in early 1840s.
Their daughter, Mary Elizabeth m John J Box of Tippah ca 1858.
Mary Elizabeth named her daughter Ellen Lavinia for Mary E's mother, Lavinia.
Dau,Ellen Lavinia married Samuel Thomas Stuart (sometimes spelled Stewart).I only saw her called Ellen & Ellie in census in Alcorn County.
Dau, Maryellen (combination of her ancestors names), Lutichie 'Tishie' married Austin.I believe records show she married a Frank Austin.I have just started working on this line, but I think I have all this right.
My Interest?Thomas Cartwright was the youngest brother of my gg grandmother, Mary 'Polly' Cartwright of Tippah County.Small world eh?p.s.My mother was b and raised in Chewalla and I am familiar with the Austins from there, too.I hope you find this message and contact me.
