Hi John , not sure , but I am a first geberation Australian, my father Charles(b1898)came to Australia in 1921, he served in the British Army in WW 1. He was born in Scotland as was his father Andrew (b1865). Andrew's parents John Dwyer and Mary Redichan were born in Ireland, although we know where Mary was born, we do not know where John was. All BMD certificates , census in Scotland just state "Ireland" . A couple of my cousins in Scotland believe that the Scots could not understand the Irish accent so at least they knew they were born in Ireland. We do know John's parents were Andrew Dwyer and Mary McManus.

Any common thread , we will try anything to find where our "Dwyers" came from

Cheers
David Dwyer
Sydney.
